So can I still bring my liberty in for a recall even tho it was awhile ago. It's for nothing protecting the gas tank if rear ended.

I would have to say yes it can still be done. I don't think there is an expiration on a recall.

lot of people had it done then took the hitch and sold it on craigslist heh
you'd have to check your vin to see that it wasn't already completed by the previous owner, if it was , not a gigantic deal, can usually get the nice beefy tube uhaul style hitches for 50 bucks or so on ebay

True... they have. The eventual issue is going to be that every Liberty that the dealer installed hitch fits, is going to already have one, installed by the dealer under the recall! lol.

Too much supply not enough demand. I'm keeping mine, it's installed and I've used it more than I would have expected compared to when I didn't have one and might have wished I did.

I can confirm that, yes, you can have your Jeep serviced for that recall. The reason I know is because last week my hitch was installed on my 2004 Jeep Liberty. The only thing that was concerning for me was over the phone I was told they would have to inspect my Jeep for rust to make sure it could be installed and there is an option on their computer for if they had to removed another hitch. I'm not sure if they charge you for removing a hitch? All recalls, I've always heard, are free of charge.

No they do not charge you to remove, they charge the manufacturer
They check for rust to make sure the frame area is not all rusted out

Thanks for confirmation. I didn't want to ask the service manager since I didn't have an existing hitch. On a very positive note, they told me my Jeep was in great shape. One of the nicest bodies for the year.

I emailed Chrysler about my build sheet and they sent me it plus these recalls that haven't been done. Are they worth getting done or just not a big deal?

Recall # Description

I just had four recalls done yesterday on my new-to-me 2002 Liberty. Why not have them done. Doesn't cost you anything but a little time.

I wish they would stop sending me recall notices since my KJ is flagged for "Excessive modifications" by Chrysler(I have the paper),basically like a salvaged title, and no recall pertains to it and is 100% out of pocket for me.

No let's send me 15 notices by mail and email every month.I've ******* the local dealership out so many times they lock the doors when they see my Jeep pull up unless it's at the parts entrance.
