What else would be needed to add heated mirrors into a KJ that didn't originally come with them?

I'm unsure. You'd definitely need to shoot power to them and the switching mechanism which is still in the Jeep. I can pull it out and include with the sale of the mirrors.

The defrost switch for the rear window controls the mirrors also,as I understand it, just plug and play.

Tail lights are here at my house. My closest post office is 31804. I believe they'll fit in a large flat rate box. I'd have to check tomorrow.
