Mine will spit gas at some pumps if the nozzle isn't all the way in. Sometimes the weight of the hose and nozzle will make it tip out a bit. If I make sure the nozzle is seated I rarely have an issue.

There was a thread similar to this a few weeks ago. Mine does it too, I believe it has something to do with a faulty vent in the gas tank. My remedy has always been to fill slower.

Found it. http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48562

It used to do it occasionally, the fuel would overflow slightly after it clicked off. But now if ur filling at full pressure it will spray out and it does it almost every time, regardless of station or pump type. I just fill slowly once its near the top.

Yea when it comes near to filling the jeep just slow up on the flow and you should be fine. Mine does the same thing. I always slow up around 13-14 gals since my fill up stops around 15-17 gals.

It's not worth spending a few hundred to fix a stupid issue b/c the last i checked, a new gas tank is in order to fix it
