Hey Guys,
I know the infinity 6.5s have been the achilles heel of the Infinity System. Rather than try to repair ours with a foam surround kit we've decided to go with an aftermarket solution by Pioneer.
Generally when doing these types of installs I try to use the factory harness...
Thanks Tom. I will definitely look into doing the alignment next month after she's up a couple thousand on it. Is there an aftermarket control arm that works better with these kits? The new front shocks seemed really tight in there.
Hey Guys, thanks for the kind words. This is a BDS kit. Came with new coils all around and new rear shocks. I also bought a new pair of front shocks as they were pretty worn at 140k miles. The whole process took me around 12 hours. I had bought new front shocks and had the coils loaded prior...
OK thanks. Was looking at those or the Ranchos.
I'll post pics when it's done, probably be a couple of weeks as I need to find some tires too. My daughter's really going to dig this when it's finished.
Makes sense and I can see why. At first glance I thought they were struts too as they have the preloaded springs and mount to the chassis. I guess the technical term would be coil-over shock though.
After weighing the pros and cons we're going with a BDS kit. I noticed the didn't come with struts. I'm assuming we would use the stock struts for the kit.
I was wondering if there is any advantage to upgrading the struts. There is 125k on the Liberty so I'm not adverse to buying new ones...
Ahhhh...so this is something I didn't realize. 2-2.5" is really kind of more than I was looking to do......starting to wonder if maybe a spacer lift might be a better way to go.
