Anybody have an idea on this head gasket replacement!
well good call in reversed tstat, unbelievable that an auto shop can do that and not figure out the problem. I have the service records for the jeep and and it was at three different shops for the same problem. Runs great now with no issues, thanks for all the great info. Quick note: it only...- surething

Anybody have an idea on this head gasket replacement!
coolant is where it should be and not bubbling compression gas. I'm talking about the small hose from the radiator to the fluid tank , does it push fluid from start up? I'm thinking it shouldn't unless the thermostat is open. Am I wrong on that?- surething

Anybody have an idea on this head gasket replacement!
Speaking about the thermostat in backwards, Coolant shouldn't be flowing into the bottle until its warm right? This guy i just bought this jeep from had a new cooling system put in at an auto shop. I got fluid going in when its cold, could that be the answer? Thanks, Pat- surething

i will try bleeding it, bought from a guy with these issues so just got to work them one by one. Supposed to have new waterpump but hard to tell how long he drove it with blown head gasket, he said he just drove it around with the heater on full blast. If bledding it doesn't work it will get a...- surething

Anybody have an idea on this head gasket replacement!
Well I pulled my valve covers and found that my right camshaft sprocket come loose (ouch) cleaned it up, pulled my timing chains and rotated the camshafts 180 Degrees and it runs like a champ. No leaks and good power. I am still overheating at highway speeds though and does fine in town. Does...- surething

replaced both sides, lined the v-6 marks at the 12 oclock with the crank at TDC, it was running good though before i started the job and didn't touch the crank sensor. When i pulled the intake manifold off there was a mess of orange goop in the vacuum line from pcv valve to the intake. Do you...- surething

Hi all, just picked up 2004 with a 3.7l and a blown head gasket. other than that it had run pretty good before i dug into it.
