I got a 2011 just going on 39K. Just changed oil regularly. Had to replace gas tank / skid plate support. Plan on keeping for a long time. Original owner, bought new from the dealership. Live in MI. It’s a Renegade. We had a sun roof put in it. Old but still very nice.

My method. Remove battery. Remove horn bolt and just set out of the way. Reach way down in there and loosen and carefully remove the oil filter. I only hand tighten it so it’s easier to get off and put back on. All by feel you cannot see through the mess of components. Never have had a problem...

Anybody got any good information on 2011 Jeep Liberty gas tank removal? I’m noticing the Tank skid plate is severely rusted. My understanding is this also holds the tank in place the same bolts that hold that attach the skid plate. Thought I could just replace the skid plate but I seen another...
