How far can the average KJ go?

Like 2003KJ, I, too, have done 300-mile each-way trips easily, with 1/8 to 1/4 of a tank leftover. 2006 Renegade 3.7L engine, 20.5 gallon tank.

    87 vs 89 octane fuel

In a gas engine? You've got to be kidding me! Engine damage aside, you'd probably be pulled over by the police for being a road hazard. I'm referring to all of the smoke that'll be pouring out of your tailpipe that will obscure the vision of everyone behind you.

    87 vs 89 octane fuel

The owner's manual for my '06 says the following (I'm summarizing): 1) Designed for and runs fine on 87 octane. 2) Don't bother with premium, you probably won't see any difference. 3) 89 octane might help with milage when towing a heavy load or in hot weather or a few other...

    New KJ owner; thanks y'all

Well, I've had my Liberty for a full month now, and I'm quite happy with it. I special ordered a 2006 Renegade w/manual transmission. It took 3 months, but it finally arrived in mid-February. Several months ago, before I ordered it, I'd posted a thread seeking comments from this board...

Thinking of adding a Trail Rated Badge? Get the right one!

Getting the "Trail Rated" badges for your Liberty Y'know, I could've sworn that I read somewhere that Jeep will send you a "Trail Rated" badge for your Liberty for free, just call the Cust. Svc. number. But I couldn't tell you where I saw that, or if it's true. #-o

Prelowered Liberty vs Lowered Liberty - Explained.

The article about the rollover is on AutoWeek's website here: http://www.autoweek.com/article.cms?articleId=3331 It's worth noting that Consumer Reports says they were unable to duplicate the rollover, and they absolutely hate SUV's at CR, so you know they tried their darndest, and it had to...

Considering KJ purchase, seeking feedback on certain things

I admit it drove nicely in the test drive I did. I am a little worried about the lack of horsepower at the top end, although clicking off the overdrive should help that somewhat. Shifting was smooth and it appeared to be well-programmed to shift at appropriate points, so I give them credit...

Considering KJ purchase, seeking feedback on certain things

Re: Considering KJ purchase, seeking feedback on certain thi I see we have a difference of opinion here between you and LibertyCRD. I'm just glad we have the option of going either way! You don't have to convince me! \:D/ Actually, in some circumstances this same phenomenon happens in 2WD...

Liberty CRD recommended by the CarTalk guys for flooded area

Some of you may be familiar with Tom & Ray Magliozzi. They're a couple of nuts who host a radio show on NPR called CarTalk, and have a website at http://www.cartalk.com/ They also write a Q&A column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Someone wrote in to ask what type of vehicle would be...

Considering KJ purchase, seeking feedback on certain things

Hi guys, I'm considering purchasing a KJ, and wanted to get some feedback from current owners. If I do buy one, I have a couple of options. One is to get an '05 CRD 4x4 that the dealer currently has in stock (Sport model I think, with some extra options already installed). Never owned a...
