Our '05 Renegade is still looking pretty good considering the amount of salt it gets driven in here in Michigan. The only rust issue so far is the oem rock rails. I took them off last year to clean up and repaint, but the inside of the tubes are rusting badly and they look bad again one year...

Thanks for all the info in this thread. I just did this mod on our '05 Renegade and it works great. Neal identified the correct wire at the multifunction switch connector and that helped make it easy. Instead of running the 3 short wires and tying the relay away from the panel as shown, I just...
