i didnt ever take it to the shop. i have a friend thats a mechanic come and take a look and we couldnt figure it out. i did get it to turn over by taking the cap off the starter relay and just putting my finger on it. replaced the relay, still no luck. wouldnt turn over that fast by doing that...

its goin to the shop, switch didnt fix chit.

has anyone had to replace their bcm? you say its expensive but how much is it? im expecting to get my new key and ignition lock when i get home out of my mailbox so i will keep you guys updated.

been looking at the threads about the bcm. i guess its a possibility.

i used it to go to padre island 4th of july weekend. it got sandy and was driven through 18"+ high water. when we got off the beach we stopped for gas and shut the jeep off. after the fill up it woudlnt turn over, just like now, but it eventually did after me messing with the key for about 15...

ordered a new ignition switch lock and key today.............please be it.

well the battery was put on the jeep wednesday. i cleaned the terminals really good when i put it on. last night i tried shifting to neutral and back and tried starting it in every gear, then i banged through all the gears trying to start it, no dice. i did notice last night that i unlocked it...

shifting the gears while trying to start it didnt work for my girlfriend. so i guess thats good and bad..haha anyone want to buy a jeep that wont start, i gotta get around this winter.

come to think of it, i replaced those solenoid packs last year after a trip down the beach which is where i was at last time it ran. i think those solenoids will get wet when you get into deep water. last time it just wouldnt shift to third gear. and yeah it was like 500-600 bucks for the repair.

i will try that as soon as i get home from work. thank you guys so much. i will keep you updated. im gonna be active on these boards through the winter as i usually use my jeep while its cold outside. i havnt put more than maybe 100 miles on it in the last 6 months so its gonna need...

i turn the key and acc works, then as you turn it to the on position all the lights come on as they should, just when i press it forward to start it doesnt turn the motor over or make a clicking sound or anything. the last day it run it wouldnt turn the starter over and i kept messing with it...

i have replaced the starter and the battery but im guessing im having an ignition problem. as i turn the key the dash lights come on but as i press it forward to start the truck, it does nothing. could this be as simple as just replacing the key cylinder or am i looking at more expensive repairs?
