    Good quality reman steering rack

What brand would that be? Some say Detroit Axle are good and then some say AC Delco. However there are a bunch of negative reviews on these too. Shall I get Mopar? Or is there something else worth looking at?

Loud knocking when turning over bumps

The direction of the turn does not matter. Loud rattling clunks come from the driver side. It happens only when I go over bumps while turning. If the road is good or I drove over bumps straight its dead quiet. LBJ are brand new and so are the shocks. Checked tie rods and UCA for play and did...

Brake pedal sinks all the way to the floor

OK so there really is a problem then and yeah it looks like the vacuum booster might be the problem. So, I tested the vacuum booster as suggested above, i.e. holding the brake pedal while starting the engine. If the engine has been running in the last couple of hours the pedal would sink a bit...

Brake pedal sinks all the way to the floor

The more I play with it the more it looks like something that happens by design. When the engine is off I cannot get the pedal to the floor for sure. An internal leak in master cylinder would have allowed me to do that. I can only do it with the engine on and only if I press it with constant...

Brake pedal sinks all the way to the floor

I think they are spinning the wheels in different directions. That's why the ABS does not engage. The Jeep is running during the test and I am sitting in the driver's seat. No ABS lights or anything. I really wonder how it worked with the front brakes though. It is one and the same MC, right?

Brake pedal sinks all the way to the floor

So, has anybody tested that actually? Would the pedal reach the floor when applying constant pressure on your trucks? It does not drop down immediately, it takes a sensible amount of time. No work has been done on my brakes for more than an year now. The front end exerts enough force to bring...

Brake pedal sinks all the way to the floor

Just noticed that today during the yearly technical test. I was doing the brake tester and it was all nice and fine with the front wheels. Then we went to the rears, the rollers started spinning the tires and I started slowly depressing the brake pedal while looking at the tester dials. At some...

What is the possible source of this leak?

Just to make sure I got this right. The lower half of the bell housing is removable and acts as inspection plate?

What is the possible source of this leak?

Hey I didn't realize there was an inspection plate on the 42rle. Where would that be? The leak is minor right now. There are no drops or anything just a wet spot. However, I'd like to check out on it and the inspection plate sounds like a really good option.

What is the possible source of this leak?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k_AJww3oU10A8aPHMxUiemBMn8cAjy9c/view?usp=sharing This is right between bell housing and transmission (oil plug can be seen there). I cannot really determine whether the spot is engine oil or transmission fluid cause of all the dirt down there.

    compression test

I have been measuring mine at each spark plugs change. It is in the 150-160 psi range with the engine at room temperature.

Wheels dragging when making U turns in full-time

The transfer case mode does not change immediately after changing the lever position. Moreover, the indicator on the dashboard indicates only the lever position and not the actual state of the transfer case. It takes changing the lever position and momentarily accelerating in a straight line for...

Wheels dragging when making U turns in full-time

While it's comforting knowing that all KJs do that I still find it hard to believe that's how differentials should work. That means it should bind in 2wd to since front and rear differentials would also be compensating for speed difference in U turn. It does not bind in 2wd, though.
