I am confused, the build sheet states that my 2003 KJ 3.7 has a 42RLE auto box, however, the transmission sump pan has 15 bolts which is for a 45RFE. The sump filter is black rectangular shape. Presumably there must be a serial number on the transmission somewhere that would identify it.

There seem to be quite a number of ATF+4 licenced brands:- http://centerforqa.com/chrysler/licensed-atf4-brands They are presumably all the same quality.

Why flush that autotransmission? How do you know that it is time to change the ATF? Mine smells like cat's pee to put it politely but it looks clean enough. What makes this Mopar ATF +4 so special over all other automatic transmission fluids?

i have just bought a 2003 KJ Extreme Sport 3.7 Cherokee with 49k on the clock to replace my XJ which I drove round the Baltic Sea to Russia and back, whatever the Russians put on the roads in winter, vitriol,???, it pretty much dissolved the underside... Now I am on the look out for some...
