    Rusted out oil pan?

Had mine done recently - also rusted out in salty Ontario. Tech had to drop the x-memb, raise the engine. PITA, but it's done. Good luck - check out your engine mounts and have them replaced while they are in there if they are bad. You may need an alignment depending on what is removed.

    High mileage club

Check these common Liberty problems: - rad end tank condition, - the front driveshaft boots' condition (sounds like a rattling and jingling sound in 4x2 if really bad, but might be absent in 4x2 if it's not bad yet, but it would be very pronounced in 4x4), - how far the springs have sagged...

    High mileage club

190,000 kms (~118,000 miles) 2003 3.7L Sport 4x4 PO did brakes and A/C condenser and a few other maintenance items. I recently did the following: - tires; - rad and hoses; - hood struts; - new driveshaft CV head; - windshield; and - sparkplugs (ermagerd...they were probably never...

Having trouble in canada with parts

Either that or order the part that is on a U.S. site, have it delivered to a U.S. address (e.g. UPS store), then drive over to the U.S. side, then you pay only the duties and taxes if applicable. Many times, a border guard will wave you by as the cost for them to do the paperwork outweighs the...

Front Recovery point(s) Help me decide

bringin' this thread BACK FROM THE DEAD :025: I enquired with Detours today about whether they were still making the KJ Backbone System and they said: "Yes, it's still being made. It's the busiest time of the year so I'dneed 2-3 weeks. New laser cut & formed just arrived from subcontractor...

    profdlp's 2007 Liberty Project

Cool build prof - might be borrowing a couple ideas from you. I was also thinking of installing a CB, rack and lights for our summer canoeing adventures (yes we have summer up here).

    Jeep Liberty V8 Swap Megathread

I'm SAD to hear this Honduras. That bolt did some brutal damage...I've seen severely overboosted engines with less damage... Best of luck with that company and your (re)build.

03 KJ rad removal, install and system flush

Hi all, I didn't find a write up that I liked for this task so thought I'd better contribute to the community. I've found so much help on here. :happy107: My rad failed at the top (!!) from one of the horizontal runs, not at one of the endtanks like most do. My little KJ puked its...

Hello from a Northern Neighbour (yes there's a u in neighbour)

If I had time I would've done that, but I travel quite a bit for work (hence me being in NB last week...going to North Dakota next week), so didn't have time to do the work myself. I've ordered a lot of car stuff over the years so I got burned that way when I first started tinkerin' with cars...

Hello from a Northern Neighbour (yes there's a u in neighbour)

LOL looks right to me. I'm in Ottawa actually, but I was just around the Woodstock/Freddyville area last week for work. Sure was crazy there with the microburst and 2.5hrs of thunderstorms...lost power in Woodstock overnight in some places. Apparently lightning is uncommon there??!?

Thanks! Oh boy oh boy I hope so...sounds so much worse than that (although this is my first KJ). I have to get under and inspect...I just read through the DIY.

Hello from a Northern Neighbour (yes there's a u in neighbour)

:emotions33: Hello all, just joining Jeep KJ after picking up my black 2003 Libby Sport. Love the truck so far. I got a good deal on it, with 170,000 kms and a jingly transfer case...at least, it might be that, might only be a CV...don't think so though. It's horribly jingly, with some...
