Cylinder #2 has zero compression and is all rusty. Probably had a head gasket leak for a long time. She's pretty rusty and probably not worth repairing at this point. Gonna send her to the graveyard:(
Yeah, writing "dead cop" might get someone in trouble these days in this overly sensitive "Sissy" society we live in these days:):) Oops, am I allowed to say Sissy?
Thanks, I was hoping someone could tell me how their KJ ran with a completely dead coil pack. Gotta get me a code reader since this KJ stays up at the hunting cabin. Other option is to buy a pack and just move it around which is pretty easy to do on a Liberty. Weird thing is that I just fired...
Sorry, I thought COP stood for Coil-on-Plug or Coil-over-Plug. I know some refer to them as Coil Packs. Can't remember what plugs I used but I wanna say NGK.
The old 2002 huntcamp Liberty is misbehaving and I'm hoping it's just a COP. I changed the plugs about a year ago. She runs but is really chugging and not drive able. I've had COPs fail intermittently in a few vehicles but never like this. What does it sound and feel like when a COP is...
You guys be right about cheap radiators. Pretty sure the aftermarket radiator we had installed in the fall was leaking immediately. We only drive it in da woods so it took a while to notice the coolant going down. Had some time so I took it up to the shop that replaced it a couple days ago...
So far so good with the $12.00 ebay sensor. Pretty amazing how much trans fluid was leaking out of the old sensor. What really surprised me was how all the fluid made its way to the drivers side which made it appear like the leak was on that side.
Any way to disable rolling locks on a 2002 Liberty? It's a feature that drives us completely insane!!! Even after owning this vehicle for 4 years I still jump out to open the back and find it locked.
I changed the O-rings on mine and still getting a leak from the sensor itself. The body of the sensor seems to be a two piece design that can loosen up over time and break what appears to be a RTV seal. Just got a cheap one on ebay but haven't had a chance to install it yet.
It was $60.00 on Amazon and was just going on the old 2002 Hunt camp Liberty. We just use it to beat around the trails and retrieve deer. Even if it's crappy quality it may outlast the vehicle. Anti-seized the crap out of everything just in case.:):) Are Detroit Axle hubs known to be junk???
Just got the new hub on today and she's no longer howling. Pretty easy job and I'm guessing the hub puller saved me a good amount of time. Took me about 3 hours including cleanup. The $50.00 Detroit Axle hub seems decent enough and the ABS Speed sensor is working just fine. I was worried...
I'm getting ready to tackle the front left hub on the old 2002 hunt camp Liberty in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions for a cheap hub assembly that's decent? Not sure how much life is left in her but she just got a new radiator yesterday. This Liberty is just used to get in and out of...
Our 2002 hunt camp KJ uses a lot of oil and it never hits the ground. I'm guessing it's being burned up in the CAT. She doesn't smoke much but you can definitely smell burning oil. Nice thing is that I just need to change the oil filter once in a while instead of doing complete oil changes!!!:):)
