    The white gunk was probably dielectric grease used to seal the boot on the connection. If the brushes are worn or diodes blown then changing the Alt will work. If it is the VR then it won`t.

    Are you asking what the voltage should be when the Jeep is not running? 12.6+ is a full charge, 12.4 is on the low end.

    Always used Dino oil in my cars but with the Jeep I am using Mobil 1 HM. Changed the oil upon purchase and now 3500 miles later changed it again. The Mobil 1 w/ Mobil 1 filter at 3.5k was black!!! Deep black!!!:jawdrop: No burnt smell or sludge ect... Is this normal?

    80k on the odometer last week and happy as could be with the KJ. Washed it just a few minutes ago and going to do a 3500 mile oil/diff/T-case change just to be overly careful and go to a normal schedule after that. Received my JeepKJ decal and that will be the first Official mod added...

    Help required Fuse 39 keeps blowing

    Looking at the manual that I have... Fuse 39 is tied into the Hazard switch combination Flasher by a DK. Blue/ White wire and is hot in run. Where it ties in its marked Ignition. Don`t know if its different for you over there.
