    crossmember bolts

Garbage. I think I'm going to weld studs to plate steel, and weld that up to the frame rail. Anyone see an issue with that?

    '02 NV3550 Manual Trans Removal?

Hello all! A little while ago I fired up the KJ to the sound of a high pitched/random metallic sound in the bell housing. Pretty sure the clutch is the culprit(or pieces of it), as I'm at 165k on the original. Sourced a new clutch, flywheel(just in case), and a copy of the service manual...

    Parting out the KJ

Do you still have all 4 doors, and if so, have they started rusting yet? If you do and they aren't, what would you want for them? Thanks in advance!

New Speakers but installation issue with mounting holes

I used the aftermarket brackets, and had all four in securely in no time. It's what I'd recommend to anyone piecing together an audio upgrade. Worth the money to circumvent a headache. Running new speaker wire however, I would not want to do again.

    Jack needed for 2003 Liberty

I picked up this one at Harbor Freight and love it: Low Profile Floor Jack - 2 Ton, Rapid Pump® Jack Works awesome on the lifted jeep as well as on extremely lowered vehicles. If you buy it at the right time and with a 25% off coupon, you can get it for around 70 bucks or so.

High Mileage KJ: What else should I do while lifting?

Thanks! As for the final list... JBA: Control Arm Rear Upper (boomerang) Sway Bar End Link (2) Front LCA (both) Moog Front Outer Tie Rod (2) Moog Lower Ball Joints (2) Sway Bar Bushing (2) TeraFlex Bump Stop (2) Tommudd's Econo 3.5" Lift Kit KJ (Clevis Spacer 0.375" + HD Front...

High Mileage KJ: What else should I do while lifting?

Got the alignment done Saturday, and had a little help on Sunday getting the midpipe to fit correctly. Rides pretty nice! Feels a little like it wants to wander on the freeway(could just be me) but around town it's very stable and a hundred times better than it was. Not sure when I'll get...

    severe rust. sigh.

Did the eastwood internal frame coating myself and it was a pretty painless process. A can and a half will get you there, just make sure you tape off any holes you aren't using... this stuff is thin and fires out of any opening it finds. It's crazy how minimal rust can look but how bad it...

High Mileage KJ: What else should I do while lifting?

I did, after finding one lonely post either on here or LOST mentioning them. To be honest, you definitely get what you pay for. They are shaped *similarly* to the OEM rockers but clearly designed to be installed over the factory sheetmetal. Ideally the factory would sell a patch panel, but...

    OK alignment gurus...

Possibly stupid question here. I couldn't tell the difference between the arms when I got them, they look the same to me. Is that not the case?

High Mileage KJ: What else should I do while lifting?

Made some progress, despite all the issues the truck as thrown at me. Everything is in, just need to torque all the bushing-related bolts while it's on the ground and put the nonsense in the bay back together. Took a lot longer than I'd anticipated, as I ran into issues every time I got...

2002 LCA Cam Bolt size/thread pitch?

Well I suppose my tap/die set isn't worth a damn then, ha. I'm sure it'll get replaced with a nice, expensive setup one day, but generally if the damaged bolt in question is of a reasonable price I just replace it rather than repair. It does however have all of the larger sizes, and visually I...

    HIDS in stock housing

Let me start out by saying I totally agree with all the people who say halogen reflectors with HID drop in kits are a poor solution to an illumination problem. I've done 6 or so HID upgrades on numerous vehicles, and clearly the best way to go is a true HID projector retrofit. I did my first...

2002 LCA Cam Bolt size/thread pitch?

Tried searching and came up with nothing. A few of mine are pretty beat up from "persuading" them to loosen and I'd rather recondition the threads than spend $50 apiece for new ones. I picked up a metric tap/die set so I'm ready to rock, just need to be sure of the size is all. Thanks in...

High Mileage KJ: What else should I do while lifting?

I'm at the shop now. Showed the tech pictures of Tommudd's ironman install. Turns out that the perches were getting hung up on the stickers that were on the shock, making it look like the springs were 3" or more too long even when compressed. So yeah, basically these guys are a bunch of...
