    Busted e-fan

Silly question: are You still on the original e-fan? If so I guess it's time for a new one. I know very well that nowadays we all are on a tight budget (verrryyy tight.. :disgust:) but we all know that s..t just happens.. So it's probably time for a new one, only check whether You have the 2...

    KJ Renegade Transmission Overheating

2x on what TwoBobsKJ said! (I was writing the same as his, but I edited my post just in time before submitting...). PS: SIRRuS, nice Rig, but she really needs a lift (I mean, the vehicle...). Nice beach.

06 liberty hard shift from 2/3 gear

Transmission issues don't always turn MIL on, IIRC. A decent scanner is needed to recover the hidden code (I suspect it's a P731/733 plus may be an P8xx..), seen a lot around here. Also, I fear that a flush won't be of much help, sorry to contradict fellow KJers.. Moreover, given the not...

Swapping engine out from a KJ 2.4 to a 3.7 (or 4.7 if poss)

Come on guys.. it's as simple as that.. Bolts holding the pan : 42RLE = 13 10mm bolts (part #6501474) 45RFE = 15 8mm bolts (part #6101221 or 6503232) Those 8mm ones are ridiculous, found many cross-threaded right from the plant..

    New leak

IIRC all radiators should fit, I've always wondered why Mopar has parts that serve the same purpose but are priced differently.. 52080120AC (Superseded by 52080120AE ) was for MY 2005 while 05183562AA for a 2006. I've got a hunch they both fit..

    New leak

I could almost swear it's the radiator going south... Happened on mine, I guess there is a designed weak point that cracks before any other place to warn the owner about a fortcoming more serious failure.. Look for the 52080120AE, it seems to be a bit cheaper than other P/Ns, don't ask me...

    HD Cooling setup

Ooops.. hadn't noticed that TwoBobsKJ explained the whole procedure (HD removal..) much better than me just a few threads from here..

    HD Cooling setup

To the OP HD cooling is definitely a great thing but don't forget that it makes working in the engine bay a bit harder.. Also, even if removing the fan clutch + nylon fan assembly is easier said than done, don't forget You'll need a 36 mm (or a cheaper adjustable one) wrench, not too...

    HD Cooling setup

Hi all! I can't really be much of a help as all KJs here came with HD cooling,I don't know whether a non HD electric fan is a direct 'bolt on' to a 52080127AA HD shroud or not.. All I know (learnt by reading the label on the box...) is that the e-fan I swapped on my KJ also fits a 2004 WJ...

    Cylinder missfire

Don't know why but 'engine rebuild' always makes me shiver... at least here.. But, before getting mad, maybe it's just time for a new radiator. Those hardly make it past the 6 to 7 years mark. Swapped mine at the end of last year. Inspect carefully just below the upper hose, they seem...

What brake pads do you use and why?

EBCs are low dust too.. but if You wanna stay with Mopar you might want to try Akebono Pro-Act. AFAIK they probably are OEMs and so you'd spare some bucks while maintaining original quality. Again IMHO.

What brake pads do you use and why?

So, being in Germany.. - ATE (D) : apparently only available for front axle (don't ask me why..) - EBC Green Stuff (UK) : That's what I'm using now, they are OK to me. - Ferodo : should be easily available (I guess). Just my 0.02..

    Cylinder missfire

Hi trazman Looks like the TPS to me (Throttle Position Sensor). Yes, You need a new one, stay with OEM. That won't come cheap, especially in Europe. I suppose it might cost about 100 Euro, but don't know really... Also, while You are at it, why not spray some contact cleaner on coil...

    Brakes, brakes, brakes!

Quite happy with those (front and rear on my KJ). No squeals, no dust and they bite as supposed to. TJ, sorry to hear You had a bad experience, but I guess it's because yellows are not suited for wheeling but strictly track/road only, in spite of EBC claiming otherwise.. this IMO. I wouldn't...

Uncommon issue... please Techs (and ex XJers) chime in..

Thank's Tj :worthy: Funny (well, ironic at least..) thing is that I've always been glad, until now, that on D-44s bearings have their own races, unlike some other diffs where they run on shafts and wear them out.. In spite of that, looks like I'll have to swap the axle anyway, this time...
