    Not sure how old it is. It's the brother in law's jeep. I bled them yesterday for as long as it took to get new (much lighter) fluid coming out. They are better but still a bit soft I think. I have to check that "bleeding from the ABS"

    Well I took the grill, rad and fan and I was able to put it back together . Tomorrow I'll fill the power steering system and see if it all works. I changed the water pump also.

    I have another problem. Tried to take the high pressure hose off but the end that goes in the pump won't unscrew. Instead, the insert/nut at the pump is coming loose. I don't have access to hold both the insert and the nut of the hose itself. So I figured I could take both off and separate them...

    It was just me being a bit of a moron... I just needed to turn the shaft 1/4 turn. I put in the way the old one was when I took it out but it must have turned while I was manipulating it to get it out.

    Hi all, new to the forum and hoping to learn. I'm in the process of changing a rack and pinion on my step daughter's 2005 Jeep Liberty limited with a 3m7 engine. Got the old one out and got the new one in place (not bolted yet) but can't get the joint and shaft the mesh... can't slide the joint...
