I tried two of them, both were the same size and the correct part #. I also tried a Fram this morning, which was a slightly better fit [a bit smaller than the 2 Purolator filters I tried] but still not right. I have to force the latches to close, and the filter has a tiny wave in it making the...
I have any 08 Liberty which needed an air filter, easy job. I bought an air filter a few years back on sale. I typically keep items like that on hand when I can get them on sale. I went to install it today and much to my surprise it's a fraction of an inch too long which won't allow it to sit...
I'd pressure test the cooling system and look for leaks in the area where the carpet is/was wet. You might get lucky and all it is a clamp or hose going to the heater core.
TIA I want to service the rear differential on my wife's 08 Liberty Limited. Aside from removing the spare tire, is there anything else that needs to be removed to take off the differential cover? The Panhard bar and some other bar [the name is slipping my mind] that runs very close to the cover...
Just wondering if anyone has any comments on the Select Trac 2 (the new version) 4x4 System? I'm happy with mine, takes the guess work out of it for my wife, and if she forgets to put it back in 2 WD no worries.
Thanks,

I did my first OC on my 2008 Liberty a few weeks ago and had no problem with a tight filter. It was a little harder to do than my other vehicles, but not a big deal. I used a 12" extension with a filter (cup wrench) and it came right off.
I'd do it myself if I were you.

So far I am pleased with the Liberty 3.7L, how do they hold up? I see mixed reviews. I own/owned the Ford 300 I6 and they go forever, the little Ford 3.0 V6's seem to last very long too. I end up keeping my vehicles until they beg to be junked!

I've used Pennzoil and Exxon Oil for years in my trucks that run on Dino Oil, and Mobil 1 in my 88 E-150. Once the 08 Liberty is broken in I will switch to Mobil 1. I never had a problem with Pennzoil. Short trips are going to cause condensation, there is no way around it. What I do is about...
