How To: Change front driveshaft / change a driveshaft head
Nice job! I have done a few - maybe 3x, but don’t recall the shift bracket info. Maybe I could have finished sooner. Usually pull the KJ up a bit of a bank and get myself down in the swale - plenty o’ room there. -
2 engine computers
02 - 04 are the same - jtec computer. Accourding to my google-fu, there was a change in 2003.5 that dealt with the TCM. That may be the difference you see. No Heat
Plugged lines from the water pump or bad wwaterpump itself. That gage is not the most sensitive device. Aka - it lies sometimes- DadOSix

LIBERTY -03 stuck in maximum heat
I’m going for blend door as well. It is a booger to get at, as the whole dash needs loosened up and mostly pulled from the truck. If you need a quick fix, remove the hoses under the hood from the heater core and splice together with a hunk of copper (similar) pipe / tubing for the warm season... -
Rear Upper Control Arm (Boomerang)
Check you VIN thru the dealer and see if your LCA recall was ever performed. The newer once are much tougher, but do fail as well. Fish tail at HW speed, sway to the right or left on acceleration and the opposite side on decel is usually LCA until proven otherwise. Clunk is the boomerang 90 %...- DadOSix

get a buddy with a 3D printer and have him scan your existing knob and make a few. They might not be perfect the first time around, but 3D is amazing! My son made a replacement for an ammo magazine for me that I had lost years back. He scanned an existing with his phone and a few hours later...- DadOSix

engine stalling after starting
What can cause the engine to stall after starting? Only a cold engine. The car starts and when I want to move it stalls. I wait a while and then it starts. It doesn't stall when moving, only when I want to move from a place at low speed. It's a 2005 Jeep Liberty KJ 2.8 CRD. Could this be caused...- DadOSix

The rack can cause issues a couple ways. If your fluid is foamy, the rack itself can be drawing air on the return side. If you seem to be losing fluid and it isnt leaking at the punp, it is likely that the seals on the rack are shot - or the bore scored. Either way, the boots (inner tie...- DadOSix

I got one to tear apart that we damaged putting the steering rack back in the 06. Bought a used one for 75 and got it installed. Just for fun, I hooked up the scan tool and read the steering angle before mounting the steering wheel. Was 358 degrees negative. Rotated properly and bolted it...- DadOSix

Transmission Issues?
Assuming the fluid level is correct, I would be in favor of dropping the pan (yet again) and taking that filter off. Big surface area of filter svcks up fluid and is routed thru the pickup tube - maybe 1/2 inch diameter. What difference would it make with out it. The filter is on the suction...- DadOSix

Brakes locking up on 2009 Jeep Liberty 4x4
Is your speedometer reading at all? Is it correct? Do you have access to a scan tool with live data? Kind of curious as to what the wheel speed sensors read. R & L front , rear was a single sensor on the kj’s. Maybe there is a mis-match here applying the ABS- DadOSix

Just for kicks - run a temporary ground from the battery negative to the engine block with a jumper cable. Since it started with a pot hole / bump symptom and multiple systems affected, grounding issue sounds likely to me.- DadOSix
