I didn't drive my Liberty today because my AC compressor clutch packed it in 2 weeks ago. Been too busy at work to discharge my AC and swap out the compressor. Good news is, I picked up a New Densor compressor for 100CAD. For out American cousins, subtract roughly 33% for the price get your price;)
There may also be a tag one the bolts holding the cover on. It will say 4.10 in some form on it.... if it has it. Sometimes people don't put them back on when they do a diff service.
So if the parts come to you for around $1000 (CAD), I think it's worth while. When amazon had the front ring and pinion I think it was in the 1000-1200 range. You can also set the notification on amazon to alert you when they are in stock.
The rear is easy to find. You may have to check ebay. Amazon did have the front back in January. I would contact various vendors and see if they have them in stock. The Yukon site says back order available. Maybe you order them?
Rear ring and pinion...
That will work. Those don't have a huge flame. Higher temp will put the heat in faster and have a better chance of break the fused rust. Just control where the flame goes and you'll be good.
I prefer high heat with low flame, which make it very directed in one area. If you heat for a long time it will eventually heat everything. I will wrap water soaked (dripping) around rubber things to keep them from burning if I have to use an aggressive flame, but one of the butane/propane...
I like starting with that and also putting some heat to it. The fire will get in and essentially flake/burst the rust off along with expand the metal and usually make life easier. That said I also come from the land of little to no rust, so 1000% I would be torching that one. Impact gun will...
I'm using usa standard gears in the rear, which are said to be a lower tier than Yukon. They are fine. Noise isn't bad, honestly pretty much the same as the factory gear noise. My pattern could be better, but I haven't had time to pull it apart and re-do it. The rears were 250 or 350 cad (dont...
The static pressure is way too low. Most are in the 70-90psi range. Short cycling is an indication of low refrigerant. The 45-50 confirms it. You can get it recovered, hook up a nitrogen tank (use a regulator) fill the system with nitrogen, then go around with soapy water(you can also use a...
Static pressure can also be helpful. If that is zero, then for sure system is empty. Also pressure does not mean there is refrigerant in it. If you have pressures that are super high when running or even static/off, then that can be an indication you have air in the system.
