    Speedometer Pinion Reset experiences please

The speedo on our 07 4x4 automatic Sport has read high since we bought it. Not terribly, but definitely higher than any other reference point. It just got its third set of tires which are 235/70, so slightly smaller. I really want the speedo "accurate" and not "no more than 5mph over"...

    Possible Recall 2002-2007?

Thanks for the link Mike. There has been a witchhunt on rear-mounted fuel tanks for quite some time. I've been rear-ended in a car whose platform got a lot of negative press over it. Good thing I leave space between my vehicle and the one in front and me and watch my mirrors. I let off the...

I've done some reading. I've done some wrenching. Still, P0456

A week ago, we had a "gas cap not ready" message for a couple days. Then, it went away. Still sporting the no-removal-needed-to-gas-up Stant. Had a detail done on it a few weeks ago. Getting closer to 80k. (libgreen)

I've done some reading. I've done some wrenching. Still, P0456

Other than minor commute duty yesterday, I also put 100 or so miles on last night for the sake of hopefully having the OBD system ready for the test. And it passed OBD-II, scan-only this morning. PN was 4891685AB for the "Detector-E" as it's called on the receipt.

I've done some reading. I've done some wrenching. Still, P0456

It's had a new Mopar and a Stant cap. The line pointed out isn't damaged. It wasn't looking good for finding an aftermarket vapor canister / LDP today. But my local dealer had the LDP in stock which was a good cost savings. It's installed now. As for the googling my pretty little heart out...

char-can + pump 270012 @ a-zone. Nothing in stock this late. Napa looks like they carry the same thing for less @ CRB 270012. CarQuest 73-10397. So I'll see how things pan out in the AM.

I've done some reading. I've done some wrenching. Still, P0456

I'm familiar with purge solenoids, charcoal canisters, evaporative emissions and am fairly car smart. Here's what I've done, in vain: Bought an 07 auto / gas KJ Put some miles on it. (we're up to 70k now) Got a P0456 code. Cleared it in vain as it came back. Changed gas cap for new...

What are the steps to test the cap? (besides setting a P0456 ;))

Wonderful news... My daughter totaled our 05 limited KJ. Insurance question

Unless the insurance carrier is the lender for a finance vehicle, there is no "allow" to it. Simply, a vehicle owner and the carrier must come to an agreement or negotiate to a different amount / outcome. The vehicle ownership is of course the major part of the negotiation.

Do you have a story or two you could share regarding success of aftermarket parts or perhaps failure of OEM parts?

    Darn locking nut!

Thank you for confirming my suspicion it wasn't a stock one. I think I'll measure it tonight and order a matching key w/ 4 more so I have 5 total. :)

    Darn locking nut!

Well, I did a bit of searching on here before posting that and suspected it's not a stock locking lug. It's 7 equally spaced splines and it's the only one on the vehicle. I didn't care to waste time chasing parts at the dealer which aren't Mopar / McGard. See pic. Stock or no?
