Here's what happened: I bought this car a year ago, and after driving it for 2400km (1500 miles) on the highway back home, I already found that the cruise control function was not working. When I activated the cruise control by the button on the steering wheel as instructed in the manual, the cruise indicator light on the dashboard came on, but as soon as I let go of the accelerator, the vehicle started to slow down as if there was no cruise control and could not maintain speed.
I know that ABS and wheel speed sensor failures can cause the cruise control to be inoperable, but my vehicle is not equipped with ABS (at least that's what the OBD tells me, and the ABS light has never come on during my dashboard self-test). The current stable failure is that the tire pressure monitor on the right rear wheel is offline, causing the tire pressure fault light to stay on. Are there other reasons why I can't use my cruise control?
