So I've noticed that I've been losing oil over time and I'm not to sure on where to start looking.
There is oil in the air filter and the PCV was changed out around 258,600KM I'm now at 275,000KM.

I replace my oil every 10,000KM and run full synthetic.

Does anybody have any ideas before I start ripping things apart and start replacing seals on the oil pan and what not? (Even though this should probably be done anyway)

The only recent thing that happened was my A/C compressor kicked the bucket and the belt wouldn't stay on so I had to drive with no power steering, water pump or anything really all the way back home. Could this have ruined the head gaskets maybe?

So I was looking online as well as coming here, I seen an article that it might be stuck or bad. I'm going to take it off hopefully tonight and let it soak in brake clean and see if that fixes the oil consumption issue.

So I was looking around and seen that the aftermarket ones (Which I have currently) aren't the best. I still have my OEM one kicking around so I'm going to clean that one instead and swap them and see how it goes.

As long as you didn’t overheat, the head gaskets should be ok. How far was it to home without the water pump, and how high did the temperature gauge get?

I'm not over heating at all now. It was maybe 4KM from school to home. the temp gauge got past the middle line. I'm not to sure how to explain it. I believe it was the fourth notch so 230, according to this picture

can you add your vehicle info in your signature?

some KJs had the PVC line going into the air filter box. There's a sponge that would absorb the oil. maybe you're missing that or it's fully saturated.

The KK has a line that goes from the PVC valve to the airbox there's no sponge or anything like that in there.

I'll also had my vehicle into right now!

The only thing that I've come up with when it comes to the oil consumption has been the PVC valve. People are saying that it might be clogged or bad.

Is there anything else that could cause bad oil consumption?

When you remove the PCV for cleaning, also remove the lines and drain them out with compressed air or spin them.
It sounds like there may be a lot of oil/blow by in the system lines.
The larger PCV that is installed shake it, if it rattles, it's good, but I use a quick blast of carb spray cleaner.
How do your spark plugs look, clean or sooty burn?

I still have my old one that when replaced still had the rattle in it. I'm going to clean it with brake clean and get it all nice and looking new then swap them out.

I'll also clean the hose as well. should I rinse these as well? I don't have an air compressor nor access to one at the moment.

No don't introduce water in there. You can tell a lot by taking pics of spark plugs and using a spark plug condition chart.
As an engine wears, it may have more blow by from rings or seals.
Rich - Lean- Normal ? sooty tail pipe? Any blue smoke at start up?
You may just want to install new plugs if they have been in there a while.
I replace mine every 35 k miles and check the gaps!

I wasn't going to put water with the spark plugs :D

I meant for the rubber hose part for the PVC of course I'll let it dry.

My spark plugs were changed at 246,575KM now at 275,000KM. The plugs I ended up installing were bosch iridium spark plug.

No blue smoke, Tail pipe looks normal.

Refer to your owners manual for recommended plugs and gap.
The image above is for the KJ. Are the KK's different?
You should be using copper core see your owners manual !!

Well then, Dodge said I could use them. Looked into them and the state that iridium you lose performance, but they last longer. Is this true?

Are there any good copper lugs you'd recommend?

Bit different..Just checked 08 owners manual NGK and ZFR6F-11 (Gap.043 in [1.1 mm])
There should also be an under hood sticker, that states spark plug specs.

With our hot firing coil packs, Ngk copper cores will make our Jeeps run smoothly / effectively.
Use what the factory recommends/ under hood sticker please post a pic of it !

When I go on lunch I'll take a picture of it and post it here.

Is there a huge difference between iridium and copper? I know iridium last longer which is why I went to those. I'm not to sure what was in there when I bought it but I find no difference between them when it comes to performance/response time.
