I hope I can get a couple more dogs at some point. I'm really loving the pictures of everyone else's.

Two years since I posted that and nearly five years without a dog. So a week ago I decided to do something about that.

Funny, we (wife and I ) also started talking about getting another dog. Boxer perhaps.
But seeing your pup reminded me that I always liked/wanted a schiller stovare (hound)

Beagle, and yes, they are hounds.

He is very smart. So far, with no effort on my part, he has learned to make messes on the carpet, untie my shoelaces, gnaw chunks off of the firewood, find a bag of cat treats I had forgotten about and eat them all, lick my Kindle while I am reading it, and also displayed many other unique talents.

Seriously, though, he's a smart little guy. He has "come" and "sit" mastered, and will "stay" when he feels like it. (Beagles are known for being stubborn.) I'm sure another reason that "stay" is taking a while is that he never slows down unless he is sound asleep. I wish I could sleep so easily and so well, but then again, dogs are not troubled by having a conscience.

This is Dolly. She too is a border collie/aussie shepherd mix. Wish I could see the image in the previous post about the other border collie/aussie shepherd mix. Either way, she's 100% Sheep Dog. A couple of Christmases ago, she rounded up all the toddlers at the party we were giving and had them in the corner in the breakfast room. It was classic.
