Hey everyone!

We're trying to build a repository of helpful how-tos for everyone to use. If you've done something interesting and can detail the process, note it here. If there's something you want to do and would like a guide, reply to this thread and as a community, we'll try and provide it for you.

This forum is open to everyone newbie and veteran alike. While good natured ribbing is acceptable, chastising anyone for asking newbie questions is prohibited, so please feel free to ask for anything you want.

In order to keep the forum clean, If you would like to request a topic, please reply here. The only time to start a new thread in this forum should be when you're posting a new How To guide.

Disclaimer: Please note that the HOW-TOs here are based on our experiences with the Liberty, or based on service manual recommendations. Please bear this in mind when attempting to replicate any how-to listed here. Most of us here do this as a hobby, and are not certified mechanics.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what wire to connect to my trailer brake controller from the brake pedal switch. I found two that supply 12 volts when the pedal is pressed. I chose the one furthest from the firewall but the controller isn't working. I have a couple more things to check but I want to start here with the correct wire. (I hope this is in the right spot)

I would Like A How To on rear wiper blades on a 2008 Jeep liberty. I would also like to know if it is possible to replace it with a standard RAIN-X Type Blade?

THANKS

do you want to wire them to its own switch or existing fog switch?

this link is a basic diagram to wire it either way. personally i think you should wire them to its own switch but its up to you.

I want to wire them to my own switch, but I'm good on the wiring. My issue is how to mount them to the 06 bumper, I've seen all kinds of write ups on the 02-04, but how to mount, where to drill, and all that good stuff.

You can mount it where ever you want. Just make sure your not going to drill through anything important. And get a big washer or peice of steel to put under the bumper to keep the nut from pulling through. The diagram i posted shows how to wire it to its own switch if you have any specific questions about how to wire it you can pm me and ill try to help. Good luck

I can DIY a lot of stuff, but I don't get into the car very often. I've got 2012 Jeep Liberty and I'd like a "how to" for a remote start. Ideally i'd like to not have another key fob in my pocket, is there a way to add it to the existing key fob or purchase a factory key with the remote start button?

Im having trouble finding the blower motor resistor in my 08 kk ltd. I checked behind the glove box but i do not see anything there that appears to be it. I removed (to check) a module that looked as if it was some sort of heat sink, it was held in place by 2 torx screws. I do not believe it was the resistor tho because it had voltage on both sides with the fan on and off... Any ideas?

Is there a description or video somewhere with specific instructions on how to change the rear wiper blade... not the wiper arm, just the wiper blade?
I have the new blade but I can't figure out how to move the arm away from the glass so I can pop the new wiper into the J hook.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have not seen a video, etc.... but the old blade and arm just pull out and a new blade just snaps in. Takes a little force, but the old blade holder just pulls out.

Yep. Same with putting the new one in.

I bought one a couple winters ago. Thought I'd put it on in the parking lot. I got the old one out just fine but the new one didn't want to cooperate. It was about 10 degrees out and after ten minutes of fiddling around my hands were frozen solid. Then I got mad and gave it a good yank, at which point it slid right in.

Gulp a can of spinach and have at it.

2011 Liberty Center Console Removal

I want to pull my center console to run wiring for additional Auxiliary Power Outlets. I have a Haynes, not even close though. Gonna try tonight without help, but I will check back if I can't figure it out.

Need help pulling front turn signal units (not the bulb) I removed my grill and headlights to strip the chrome bezel to black, worked great. I want to do the thin outside of the face of the turn signal but not sure how to get it off the body. I pulled back the guard under the fender and I dont see torx screws like on an older round-light liberty. Am i just missing it? I do we what looks like a threadless post with almost a hat-like nut holding it down, but to be honest I was loosing daylight and didnt get too far. Any help would be appreciated
