I own a 2003 Jeep Liberty. It was trouble free for about a year. I did maintenance of changing motor oil and trans oil. Changed filters and gasket. Then I had some issues. The car would loose acceleration then turn off. It was random and my dealer sucked and made me pay for a diagnostic they told me proved nothing. My mechanic checked it and voila several codes. We changed the IAC as there was a code for that and changed the TPS as they were in stored codes. We didnt have a code but it said lose of ignition so to be safe we switched the ignition switch. Everything seemed to be going ok after a good throttle cleaning including the part changes. Then again same damn issue as if nothing was repaired just no enging shutting off just no acceleration. There went the fuel pump as a culprit (car having 122000 miles). Now its all back even after using a engine cleaner in order to remove anything that could have been left behind. I am in need of help has anyone suffered a similar problem?

P.S now the airbag light turns on almost all the time.

Is there any additional codes for ignition? etc? What are codes now?
Air bag light ..no fun you are having at all. Reading the codes for airbag system is next.

Oh, sorry to hear that, random issues are a big PITA...
Sounds sorta electrical gremlin to me.., check grounds, melted or broken cables, undo and spray
connectors, relay sockets with contact cleaner and so on...
IIRC there are wires under the chassis ( Yeah, smart place to put them :favorites68: ). Next, are ign. coils OK?
Relays do play up at times too, so check them thoroughly.
Heard bad crankshaft sensor might... happened on me, although vehicle didn't stall, only went limp mode.

Keep us posted.

No found old codes in system and as such replaced the IAC, the TPS sensor, and then the crank shaft sensor. To no success as the car continued with the issue. However when I changed the fuel pump a relatively 2 weeks issue free. However tonight it returned with a vengeance.

Id have to check the relays because honestly I have replaced and ruled out all other mechanical issues. I have under a year ago replaced fuel filter. Then as mentioned above replaced quite a few parts in my attempt to solve this issue. I may have to check all relays as it seems I might have a wire somewhere ******* me off.
