Coming from a high horsepower background im finding myself wanting a little more power in the liberty. I have around 140,000 miles on the jeep and am seriously entertaining the possibility of a srt6 crossfire engine swap. Im not quite sure what it would take to make everything bolt up. If anyone has any experience with the Mercedes 3.2 please chime in.

It would take around 50k and a whole but load of wiring. It would be a lot easier just to toss a V-8 but then again I like odd so do it and take lots of pictures so we have something to look at.

I still ****** about the srt4 engine because it and the kj 4cyl are both 2.4liter but I don't know if that's the only similarity. Very easy to get 300HP and a flat torque curve from those. I got 240 280 HP and tq respectively at the wheels from just a few lbs more boost than stock.

i have lots of experience with all benz motors. i was a benz tech for the past 4 years. they are nothing but a pain. there are a billion diff wires and sensors along with trying to make it all work together and i would rather punch myself in the nads then deal with them again. benz parts DO NOT swap well and are made to work together. if 1 thing is wrong you will spend a fortune fixing it. on top of the fact that parts will be expensive and that motor is a POS. i promise you that you will have more headaches in front of you then you would ever want. but if you want more info PM me with specific questions and i will try to answer them to the best of my ability. do yourself a favor and take the advice of tossing in a V8.

You'd be better off using the SRT-4 engine, (cheaper, might actually drop into the Liberty like cake), but you wouldn't gain very much stock over the 3.7L, power ratings are very similar, you'd have to heavily modify it to get any speed from the Liberty.

That's the beauty of the turbo, takes very little to make big power. The mopar stage 3 kit typically gives 360fwhp. I wish I could find my old dyno sheets of the 240/280 at the wheels.
screw it, just put a cat motor in the girl and have 1,000ft lbs! Lol

On the other hand just drop in a 700# 4BT from a Frito Lay truck and kick it up to 400 h.p. That's what my 77' Bronco is about to get!

That will require pictures! Sure you'll have enough torque to move that bronco? :p
