My headlights were so worn and fogged out I decided to replace them rather than polish them for 4 hours with 15 different sandpaper grits. I paid $118ea, that included the bulb as well. Replacement was pretty easy, just needed a T20 Torx.

I can see again!:D

Look great! With any luck you can get a few years before they dull a bit. I just got done polishing the headlights on my KJ and the wifes PT.

It's amazing what new headlights will do for the looks of a vehicle when you old one's are hazy. I've replaced them at work for people, and it makes a huge difference.

I need to do this... where did you buy the lens assemblies? I have been thinking about this lately as my 2002 is really starting to show some age around the body seams and the headlight lens's.

Looks good, although, I have to say I picked up a 3 step plastic polish kit from the local Home Depot for $8 that brought mine back to looking to new in about 20 minutes......

The new headlights came from Carstuff.com. Their was no magic In choosing that company, just the price seemed fair, came with bulbs, and when they arrived I found actual quality seemed as good or better than stock. If you order them for an 02, be sure to get the right ones. I guess their is a difference pre 10/02 and after.

It looks like 8-bucks at the depot is definately worth a spin. The Mopar polish kit I saw locally was $54

Yuck (blarg), those old lamps were pretty bad. What did you do? drive through a sand storm?

Arizona heat and dust year after year...Pretty much a sand storm, yeah. How it forms the embedded horizontal lines is beyond me....

So your old ones were actually sandblasted courtesy of Mother Nature. They looked pretty bad next to the pic of the new ones.

Don't they make a protective plastic coating you can put on headlites?? I thought I saw something on that somewhere but not sure???

Do you remember the brand name? Mine are scuffed up from removing bugs and crap from them and I am NOT going to remove my brush guard to do what the OP did.

I also need to do my fogs for the same reason.

Funny, my cheap clear turn signals are still very clear.

The $8 dollar kit (Detail magic-Lens renewer kit), is actually $14.95 here. I'm suprised to see that it DOES do a good job. Did it it make my 8 year old Arizona lens look like new? Not a chance. Their are still many defects and aberrations in the lens, not all seen by my camera. However it's possible if I had used a lens polisher every now and then, I may not have wanted to replace them. How much visibility do you need? Lesson learned. Even better, Dave's mention of a plastic coating is a great idea. I know 3M makes it.
