The future of paint

There is a similar technology going into production on LCD computer screens this summer. It's a self repairing [scratch] compound. Very interesting stuff!

That is very interesting. It could have many applications other than vehicles too.

As an aside, I have titanium framed glasses that you can bend in any way you want and they just go back to the original shape. So how about a Jeep made out of that titanium and then painted with that self repairing paint. It would just repair itself.......No worries on the trail driving through the bushes in your Jeep........

cool. if this works like im thinking in my head, would this eliminate the need for even buffing?

would this be like applying a perfect show room finish that is perfect all the time?

no cloth scratches, spiderwebs...etc...

would this get rid of the need for color sanding and orange peel?


im just imagining what the article says, and it also producing a mirror smooth finish as a result.

And how brutally expensive!
Oh, I wouldn't paint it, I'd do a titanium tie-dye job on it!
