Setting the record straight

For those of you that might be interested there is a difference between MT tires and the GoodYear MT/R's.MT's are "Mud Terrian" tires,made for going through mud.GoodYears MT/R's are not MT's,the are "Maximum,Traction,Rocks",they are rock tires made for rock crawling.I'm getting sick of hearing the MT/R's getting called MT's,sorry but this erks my chain alot.Here are 2 pics,the 1st is a GoodYear MT tire,the 2nd is the MT/R.

Woops! sorry about that. Usually I include the R but I forgot this time.

He is correct. Those that I have are not "mud" tires. They are a little watered down from pure MT's for maximium traction in all offroad conditions.

We were refering to this reference at the start or the previous the thread:

"I had a look at the the GoodYear Wrangler MT/R or SilentArmor, what do you think about that?
I will use this car most of the time (90%) for off-road trips.

Also---Military Tread/Revised(since they where originally designed for the military).The GoodYear MT's are "Military Tread" also(since the military is the primary user,sold to the public for a short time then discontinued) spotted by the "OZ" on the sidewalls.

Thanks for that tjkj. Ive always wondered why everyone used those tires on rocks and such.. Everything makes sense now! I dont believe Ive ever called them an M/T. Ive always heard they suck in the mud though..

They are really not that bad in the mud,the key is they need some wheel speed to clean themselfs out,more wheel speed than many are willing to give them.Alot of poeple are going a few MPH and expect them to clean out like other mud tires.When I'm back home and go play in the mud I'm never in 4-low and never take my foot of the gas,my speedo is pegged.Then they just dig like there is no tomorrow.But then again there is no rocks our anything to worry about on the eastern side of SD.

I no pro,but pro comps have been known to loose there tread(peels right off).They suck in all types of terrain and cost to much for what there worth.The stock GoodYears are 1000% better than any of there tires,in my opinion.They look good but that's about it.
