dealership botched the alignment, hopefully i can get it over to a good shop during the week. usually the alignment is fine as far as toe, camber, etc...but caster is usually out of spec (usually between 2.5 and 3 degrees). but now my steering wheel is turned slightly to the right, caster and cross caster, and camber on the left wheel are out of spec...and all for the low price of $108 used to be 89.99.

Well that didn't work. The replacement Hub didn't get rid of the noise that's coming from the front end. It's still cyclic and it still gets worse when you make a left hand curve at speed. But it's definitely still coming from the right side. Is it possible it's one of the half shaft out of the differential?

I agree and disagree. sometimes they don't get it right and you have to go back. Plus if they have a moron for a tech doing it, they'll do it wrong and claim they can't do it right.

I have the opposite. Cyclical noise when making a right hand turn that comes from the drivers side. I chalk mine up to the brakes, as the last sound was a plastic panel that a mechanic put a clip in and solved it.

Are you missing the light bar housing? I still need a replacement switch.

I dug around under there again today; didn't find anything loose or wonky it seems. there's a small amount of rotational play when you turn the inner driveshaft housing for the right side, but that's the only thing I found. All the ball joints are good with no play.

took 90 minutes to do the hub last time.
took 30 minutes today.
yes, I put the "old" one back in as it's not bad. I'll save the "new" one for later.

Replaced leaking, rusting transmission pan, filter, new fluid.

No leaks so far, old filter was looking kinda clogged. New pan has a drain plug!! Woot woot!

Finding a good pan for the 42RLE that was not super expensive was a challenge, but the one I found looks excellent, flat flanges, tight seal on the drain plug, lines right up and feels nice and thick.

Should last another 15 years, at which point I probably won't care anymore.

So, where y'all sourcing doors from?
looks like mine are eventually going to rot out along the bottom edge. they're already pushing the skin folder over out. I applied some rust converter to the lips, but it's the watery kind. anyone have any good recommendations for thick gel type rust converter?
