Hi folks I'm new to the forum and already have a question/problem I replaced the radiator in my 3.7 jeep liberty, I made sure it was circulating ok and heater was working, all seemed ok but today on a 20 mile round trip it overheated. Once it cooled it took more than a gallon of water so I was able to drive the last mile home, I let it cool down again and checked it the water was gone again, checked the oil it ok so no water there, it runs very smooth . But when I tried to squeeze the hoses the bottom hose felt like it had something in it, after fighting to get it off I found a spring inside, is this meant to be there? I cant figure where the water went. Does the bottom hose go onto the water pump or thermostat?

Spring keeps the hose from collapsing, it's supposed to be there. That doesn't look good in there.
So does the bottom hose lead back to the thermostat or water pump do you know??
