G'day everyone.
As I said in my intro post I'm from Darwin Australia and I'm now onto my 2nd Jeep.
My first was a tidy XJ which started completely stock and now has an alloy front bar, 22" lightbar, rear tyre carrier/tow bar, tinted windows, roof basket, aftermarket stereo and subwoofer and general tidy up.
I've sold it to my friend who has been having a ball upgrading it and preparing it for touring. I'll update this post with a current pic in the next day or so.
I wasn't Jeepless for long and am now the proud owner of a 2006 Cherokee (Liberty) Renegade.
It's in beautiful condition with 117000kms on the clock, a decent UHF radio, nudge bar, tow bar and lockable roof bars.
Days after buying it I've put some 245/70/16 Bridgestone Dueler MT's on it which I think make the car look tough as nails!
Future plans include a decent roof rack, LED lightbar, side awning, 2" lift and generally just anything else needed to make it a capable camping and touring vehicle that can take me to the more remote and beautiful places of Australia.
I have just made an order for some bits and pieces online and they will hopefully be here next week.
My girlfriend and I took the car out to Wangi Falls in the Litchfield National Park for an overnight stay Monday and Tuesday. Happy to say the Jeep performed faultlessly while we explored some of the 4WD only tracks in the area.
Can't say the same for the old tent and esky. On the afternoon we got home we went straight to the camping shop to buy a quality cooler and a nice big tent. Ready for our next trip hopefully this coming weekend.
