I noticed today that there was some fluid dripping from under the backside of the KJ, around the passanger side rear door. So, I knelt down and saw water coming out of the front (engine side) of the stock muffler. There is a hole located almost perfectly center of the muffler, right along the edge. On the face, where the lip is created from the side of the muffler and face being folded together. The hole is perfectly round (or appears to be) and is in an odd place to be a puncture. I'm wondering if this hole was put there intentionally by the factory as a drain to prevent the muffler from rusting away on the inside, or if indeed by odd chance, it is a puncture. Any insight would be great!!

If it is a puncture, I'll just replace the muffler, no biggie. I have a lead on a nearly new, still in box Thrush Glasspack that I can get for 15 bucks no tax, so that's what I'd probably do if you guys say this is not a factory made hole.

Thanks again for the insight!

Thanks guys! That was my thought, it just looked too clean to be a puncture, but I wanted to double check and make sure!

Keeps your muffler from rusting out prematurely.
