Picked up a used 2011 a month ago with 100k miles. Wife wanted a bigger lifted truck, I wanted a small sports car to build on. We ended up compromising. I get to tinker, she gets to feel safe in a bigger vehicle.
While not my first choice for a next car, I've already come to love it. I have had a craving for some offroading that our old 2wd explorer can't handle, so even though there isn't much to change under the hood, I have some work to do lift wise.
We have agreed to go the OME route and put on some 247/75/16s when the funds are available. At some point a re-gear is in the future as well. Got all the ideas from lurking here.
So far, all we have done though is install the HD cooling fan. More for drawing air through the ****** cooler than anything. It dropped the running temps from about 210 engine 190 trans in 90 degree weather to 198/180 tops going uphill in 107 degree weather.
The carfax had all the maintenence records, plus had paper copies. Was surprised the dealer had them. We are the second owners, and it looks well taken care of.
I look forward to learning more about it, and giving it a long life.
