I have now since 5 years a 2005 KJ 2.8l and i managed to fix a lot a stuff on it by myself.
But now its the time for me to share my experiences if i can help and also get some precious advise to help me when i get lost deep inside the engine !

I live in france and some kj are running around but the 2nd hand parts starts to be really hard to find and we don't have that much good jeep dealers here. or the sells the parts way to expensive...

Hi. I'm guessing that you're in postcode 24400 in the Dordogne? Which commune is that? I'm in 24320 also with a KJ 2.8CRD.

ID-Parts has many parts for the 2.8 CRD including timing belt kits. Some special tools are needed for that job. Lots of CRD information on the LOSTJEEPS forum.

Welcome to the Forum!

As a matter of interest does your "Export" model have the following extra features not available on the USA/Canada models:

Left and Right Rear-view mirrors can fold right right back electrically and then forward again electrically.

Headlight height can be electrically adjusted from inside the cabin.

My RHD 2002 CRD here in South Africa has these features as do the Australian models...makes the USA/Canada owners very jealous!;)

Hi. Yes I know Mussidan as we stayed there 17 years ago whilst we were house hunting. About 45-60 minutes from me. Next time I'm down your way how do I find you? Give me your email address maybe? Or mobile?

Autodoc are reasonable, ebay has some reasonably priced parts too.
The SIP seal is called the pinion oil seal and the axle is 8.25.
I have mine in bits at the moment, I'll get the seal details tomorrow, I believe it's an industry standard size so should be easy to get.
The front leak looks like a hose? Maybe French to English translation??
If you can find anyone who makes hoses - hydraulic specialist or tractor workshop they should be able to make you a new hose, maybe using the old fittings if imperial is hard to get.

Exactly KJowner Sir from UK, its a hose, not translated just used the wrong description ;) Waiting for your seal detail tomorrow then ;) Do you have a CRD 2.8L like me ? I am talking about the hose from left right and its going up from left and go up back to the rear so its minimum 80cm long i think. i will share another picture. I will contact JEEP at PERIGUEUX city they are at 1 hour drive from my house. What is MOPAR compare to official JEEP retailers in France ? I used to buy my Mercedes or Renault spare parts at the retailers in the garage ?

Jeep dealers are expensive! If the dealer in France is anything like the dealer here call them first adls they probably won't have it in stock. I would try and find someone who can make you a hose, speak to anyone who works on tractors or agricultural machines, they will know who to talk to, the hose is probably imperial American JIC ends.
I have a 2.5L manual so a bit different to yours.

Amazed you both have a Jeep dealer not to patronise - especially one that even knows of the KJ (after all, it is more than 5 years old)

As most of the stuff on eBay seems to come from Spain, Poland, Latvia or Lithuania (shipping from Germany seems to be similar to USA) might be worth trying jeepchryslerpartsuk.co.uk.

Sorry about the slow reply, I have spent the day fixing a heating system instead of working on my Jeep!
I think this is the part you need - rear pinion oil seal.

Also try Autodoc.co.uk, everything comes from continental Europe and is very cheap, they must have an equivalent site for France, and it will be quicker! Bon chance!
