I think if i can remember his how to correctly he pulled out the fender a little by unbolting the bolts in the door frame.. open your door and look through the opening he loosened those and the fender(metal) should slide out some.
He can correct me if I'm wrong

KJWeston is right, you do not remove the plastic wheel well cover. Open your hood and unbolt the fender from the rest of the unibody. Then open you passenger front door and unbolt the fender bolts there as well. It will move enough for you to get into the space to mount it all. Should be 5 or 6 bolts. You'll probably need to make the stock radio antenna hole a little larger so the new ball mount doesn't ground out on the fender panel, I did at least. From the inside, all the wires you need access to are above the plastic cover above where the front passenger's feet would be. 3 or 4 bolts and that cover comes off as well. Hope all that makes sense.

Gotcha ! I'm going to be on it in a bit, so I'll post back when finished....

Edit: Worked perfect!!!! Got my antenna hooked up and tuned to the radio. I still need to wire up the CB, but of course it's raining....LOL I just can't catch a break...and sorry for the thread hijack.

Thanks,
Bill

Sweet, good to hear. Make sure you got the ball mount nice and tight because if you hit a tree real good with your antenna, it may push the ball mount crooked. Wrench it down tight. I wish jeep made those antenna setups a factory option. Then you could just plug in your CB and be basically good to go.

It doesn't feel much slower if at all. It has never been a speed demon.

I'll race ya Mike....mine's lighter.....haha

Seriously though, are you sure that weight of 4970 was right when they weighed it on the scales?? Seems that it would be heavier to me. I thought the stock weight was around 4,200 give or take a little depending on options (like a Renne with full skids and rock rails, etc)???

A stock KJ weighs 3800 or so, with skids and what not, probably close to 4,000. So I have almost 1,000 more in added weight beyond that. The front IFS cradle, diff and steering were all fairly heavy as well, and were traded for heavier parts, but the jeep lost a lot and then gained a lot during the SAS. I had the jeep weighed at a recycling station. The trailer was weighed there and at the DMV too. My 35" tires and alloy wheels only weigh 7 pounds heavier each than my 31" setup did. Stuff like that makes a big difference.

After your comment Dave, it got me thinkng maybe I was wrong about the KJs stock weight.

I was wrong.

A 2005 4x4 3.7L KJ stock curb weight is 4,100 and change, so like you said, 4,200 or so with the Renny package.

I managed to only add around 7-8 hundred pounds during the SAS. Not too shabby and no I don't want to race, unless it is off road. :D

I haven't seen Inc around in a while but I was wondering if anyone had pics of how he did his rocker panels. Mine are rusted out and it's the only rust on my KJ.
I can kind of make out what he did from some of the pics that actually work but I'm not 100% sure what he did.
Thanks

LOST might have more pics,he cut rockers out/off replaced with 2x6 steel tube. It was a fine job, watched it on LOST. INC kinda rubbed some the wrong way, either he or the sites deleted some of his stuff.

He did it upon his exit from LOST. He chose to be finished with it... you'll notice under his username on that site (and here) that it says "Free." That was his doing too.
