transfer case troubles

2008 sport liberty. Codes C1404, C1403, and C140F. All are T/C Range Position Sensor codes. Odd thing is after driving about 30 miles, trouble lights clear on the instrument panel and then you can put the vehicle in 4wd and even 4low most of the time. Otherwise, if the trouble lights are on, you cannot change transfer case positions.

Anyone think this might be a harness connector issue? Anybody have a wiring diagram for this harness? Replacing the T/C motor is an expensive option and I am worried that just replacing the motor might not fix the problem.

Are there options in replacing the T/C motor such as replacing it with a manual actuator?
