Hello,
I have a 2010 KK that has developed a leak at the rear output seal on the transfer case. I'm planning on doing the repair myself and it seems to be pretty straight forward. Does anyone know what the torque spec is for the yoke/flange nut? Any advise or tips for the repair would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The best bet if you're only doing the seal is to mark the flange, nut and shaft, change the seal then return the nut to the same spot. That way you won't change the preload on the bearing. To answer your first question, 125 ft lb. but you have to creep up on it to return proper preload. Don't do it in one massive torque.

Ok, sounds reasonable. I wasn't sure if I should treat it like front hub bearing pre-load via torque spec, or like a pinion seal pre-load via an existing crush washer. Thanks for the info!
