rear springs

i have just put 120kg in the back of my kj and the towbar dropped down 26mm, does this sound about right or are my springs loosing strength

That's about 240 lbs...and about an inch I think. Seems a bit excessive. The springs and shocks are probably worn badly, especially after 10 years and if you have over 50k on it.

thanks for that, i thought they must be worn, i will get some new springs a shocks, my kj has got just over 105,000 miles, what shocks a springs could you recomend, remember i am over in the uk so may not be able to the same standard as in the states

OME springs/shocks (ARB dealer) should be available there, as well as Bilstein. Ironman is available there too IIRC.

240 lbs - 1" with stock springs is not that bad. My bumper put mine down an inch and I have coilover helpers and it only weighs 80lbs.
