PLEASE HELP - 2006 LIBERTY - REAR DOOR/GATE WILL NOT LOCK

When I use the electric lock to lock doors on my liberty you can still open the rear glass and door. But, once you do this you cannot close the glass until you unlock the locks first. Some how the rear door (tailgate) will not lock electrically and can be opened even with the other doors locked. Help needed. (Aeh) Does anyone have the part number and proper name for the rear door electronic lock actuator??

What year is the jeep? If its under warranty, take it in.

Its most likely a bad solenoid(the thing that locks the door), could also be a loose wire though.. Shouldnt be to costly if you do it yourself..

If you have the ability to lock the rear door with the key(libertys after something like 03 do not), will it unlock with the key fob?

2003 liberty - rear gate will not lock

Rear gate will not lock whether I use FOB or door switch. There is no regular key slot to use a key.
