Oil light comes on @ idle

So, the oil light comes on occasionally at idle. It goes off once the engine gets up to 1100 rpm. I checked oil level and it was OK. So changed the oil - it was about time anyway. Still happening. Still does not seem to be a pattern to when it comes on. Will go 2-3 days without coming on, then it'll come on a few days. But only once the rpm's get below 1000. any thoughts?

Start with the pressure sensor and go from there.

Hmm, how about low oil pressure-- but once idle goes high, it creates enough pressure for light to go out?

Agreed. Mine did that last winter, and the oil sending unit is what I had to replace. About $40 at Rock Auto, I think...
