This forum has been very helpful in gathering what I need to lift my 2008 Jeep Liberty KK, 3.7 gas engine, very stock. I am looking for a 2.5” lift. Below is a summary of parts needed as of 2025 with prices. Any feedback on this list, advice, or nod of approval is appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Front struts: OME 93009 (previously 90009) - $205x2 from ARB
  2. Front springs: OME 2927 (medium load) - $225 from ARB
  3. Top plate spacers: ARB KKKJtopplates (not conduit nuts) - $39 from ARB
  4. Rear shocks: OME N132L (discontinued by OME) - $115x2 from Mudify
  5. Rear springs: OME 2730 (medium load) - $225 from ARB
  6. UCAs: JBA-5.5.00.EZ - $475 from JBA
  7. Front bump stops: Teraflex TER1903200 (discontinued but call them directly) - $46 from Teraflex
  8. Rear bump stops: 4 hockey pucks - $10 from Amazon
    1. 2.5”x3/8” bolts + washers + nuts - $5 from hardware store
  9. Spring isolators: Mopar 52088686AA - $21x4 from Quadratec

I am surprised you found OME Struts and Rear Shocks. When I recently did our KK's lift in Dec. 2024 OME shocks and struts were unavailable. So I went with Bilstein's instead. So far so good.

I have a question, why are you adding top spacers? Are trying to get a little extra lift in the front? I see you going with OME 2730 (Medium Lift) rear springs. For what it's worth I was considering the same rear springs but the offroad shop I was dealing with convinced me to go with the OME 2731 springs. They are a little heavier duty. I am glad I did, the rear springs do not feel too stiff and if you decide to load your trunk with junk or tow you will be glad you got the 2731 springs. I would think with the top spacers and 2730 rear springs that your KK will sit higher in the front. I used 2926 front springs and 2731 rear springs, no top spacers, and our KK sits nice and level! Just something to consider.

Install tips:

Pre soak all mounting bolts with PB Blaster at least a couple of days before you do the work. Use a heat gun and heat up the the Teraflex front bump stops to soften them up a bit. This will help popping them into place. You can reference my recent lift build for reference. Make sure you have at least 18" of 1/2" drive extensions to reach the UCA mounting bolts (Especially the driver side). When installing the JBA UCA's make sure the mounting bolts have passed through the UCA bushings and not behind them before tightening the mounting bolts! Just give the UCA a good yank after you have the front and rear bolts in to make sure the bolts did go through the UCA bushings. If the UCA pulls out after yanking then the mounting bolt did not pass through the UCA bushing. It's a little tough to get those bolts in properly if you are doing the job by yourself. If you can get a helper to push the UCA inwards ,while you install the front and rear UCA mounting bolts, the install will go smoother.

Good luck!

Thanks, I will switch to the OME 2731 springs in the rear. Yes, the top spacers are for a little extra lift in the front. I had read many times about using conduit nuts to get to correct levels when using the longer N132Ls in the back, especially now with the stiffer OME 2731 springs. I still plan on going with the OME 2927s for my stock front, so maybe I’ll need them? It’s not easy to know.

Yes, your detailed posts are going to be very helpful. I may have some questions once I get started. Thanks for your help!

I am looking to do a lift for my 2011 KK. Looking to keep it simple, just want an easy 2.5-3” lift not an off road monster. Plan on getting a metal bumper and winch. What would you recommend for a simple lift. Do I need all of these parts for the lift or are parts like pucks and spacers extra?

Take a look at Rocky Road Outfitters. The website steps you through the choices. And it come in as a package. Get the new control arm and the preassembled struts. It took me a weekend (and some cussing) to install mine on my 2006 KJ in my garage. The KK install is probably not much differant. Be careful, the jeep mods start with the lift kit, then the tires, then the winch, then the light bars and keeps going.

So with all of this, did it end up working for you? I bought these items and ran into an issue immediately. The front struts, OME 93003 are Nitrocharger Plus which only accept a thinner spring special to fit their bottom base plate. The 2927 springs just slide over when combined with those struts. This also means that the spring isolators won't fit the smaller spring anymore. If you needed up changing parts and got the intended result, which parts did you change out? I am stuck with the bicycling to work until I figure out a solution. I might have to go with bilstein front struts. ARB said the 4060 springs will fit but will only give a max of 30-40 millimeters of lift which is roughly 1.5 inches.

Would the OME 2790 front springs work or fix your issue? I was thinking of pairing the 93009 with the 2790 and the rear with 63069 and 2731. Now I’m concerned these pairings won’t work.

Good afternoon,

I got off the phone recently with ARB, sadly before I saw this, but they said if you go with the new Nitrocharger Plus struts, 93009, they will only work with special tapered springs. He heavily recommended that I do the 4060 front spring to pair with my 93009 struts. Now, the 30-40 mm lift is not the height I am going for, especially since I have a winch, plates, and a heavy duty bumper on. I will be returning the 93009's and going for the tried and true Bilstein B8 5100's. They should lift up to the 2.5" mark and are still being made to this day. The kind gentleman at ARB stated that the original 90009 front struts would work with the 2927 springs, IF I could find them since they have been discontinued for a while. I looked up the 2970 springs and they don't have the taper to them as well. I'd be willing to bet they won't fit our application with the 93009 struts since the strut has such a small base plate. Now, im not sure what the 63069 shock is, im guessing bilstein? I went with the N132L shocks and 2731 springs for the back and they just came in today. When I get the front fixed up (within the next few days, hopefully, supposed to be a lot of snow and I don't want to bike) I will get the back fixed up as well. I can only do half of the car at a time since I have a floor jack and some jack stands. I'll keep you posted on how it all turns out for me with measurements and all. I don't want anyone to get the wrong things since this kit is pretty old and a lot of it seems to be getting discontinued.

I appreciate the follow up. Let me know when you get it built and what all parts you ordered. Might save me a headache or two. Good luck hope it turns out how you want!
