HIDs?

Question people, Who on here are running HIDs? Any problems with them?DId you have to lower your headlight as to night blind oncomming drivers?I am asking because this is the set I bought for my KJ which I got in 5000K temperature....

Discussion about possibly installing HID's. Bennett wrote that there are conversion kits for about $600 or less. This was an older post so maybe things have changed.

Maybe try L.O.S.T ??

I've passed the stringent NYS inspection 3 years in a row with HIDs. I have the CATZ bi-xenon HID kit which includes a module that moves a sleeve around the HID bulb facilitating a "high-beam" function. Most of these retrofit kits don't have this high beam functionality. I had one of those kits before upgrading to these CATZ.

Yeah once my current HIDs die i plan on getting one of the hi/lo kits to replace it. but then again by then LEDs might be the next best thing to have. Until then I plan on getting a roof basket and mounting some driving lights up there to use as high beams.

If your Jeep is around that long... High Intensity Discharge lights will, for the most part, out last the actual vehicle. Remember, there is no filament on HIDs to 'burn out'. Rather, xenon gas is activated with the ballast/igniter. As they say, HID's are lights that are turned on, they are ignited. So unless, you destroy your igniter somehow, or your bulb cracks (which could happen if theres even the slightest grease on the bulb itself), your HIDs will likely outlast the life of your car. Upgrade to the hi/lo kit whenever you see fit, but certainly don't wait for your HIDs to "die".

I´ve got HID´s on my Libby, the high and low beam kit. I got them a couple of months ago and they are great for driving at night, especially in dark roads with little or no light at all. As soon as I put my light bar on, HID's are going up there too!!
