Hey guys, been lurking and admiring here for a while and this is my first actual post.

I've been having a small coolant leak in my 07 Sport, nothing huge just a couple drips now and then. I can see where it is leaking off the frame, passanger side front, but cannot locate the source.

After speaking with some people and interweb searches I believe it may be the heater core. I was thinking of flushing the coolant system and flushing the heater core with a garden hose.

Does anyone know if this would be a worthwhile effort or possibly prolong the life of my heater core? Replacing it myself would be a complicated process and having the dealer or shop do it would be very expensive.

Just some added info, I am not getting any coolant smell in the vehicle nor am I seeing or feeling any moisture on the passanger side floor or carpet. I've checked all the hoses and reservoir tank with no signs of cracks or leaking.

Is this coolant leak coming from the firewall passenger side area? You description states leaking off the frame, passanger side front, makes it sound like it's the rad.
When your AC is on it drips down water, just want to make sure you are actually seeing coolant as well...Hoat is redish brown in color ..What color is in your coolant reservoir?
Have the system pressure tested..would be a good idea...

I snapped a quick pic with my phone. Its hard to see but its the darkest spot, just rear of the front passanger tire. To me, it seems a little forward of the firewall, its definitely coolant. Reddish G05 coolant in the reseviour. I'm off this afternoon so I think I will run it to the local ORielly auto parts store and see if I can get them to do a pressure test.
Thanks for the reply.

There are plenty of other red fluids in your Jeep, power steering and transmission fluids come to mind first.

First, check the coolant overflow tank and the rubber hose that connects it to the radiator. Might have a crack in the bottom of the tank, so loosen the screws on the firewall and look underneath, then check the hose for cracking.

Next, ****** cooler lines run in that general area. Get underneath and see where exactly the leak is coming from if it isn't the coolant overflow tank.

Keep an eye on the level of radiator and trans. I would say radiator fluid more so than trans on account of loss of trans pressure would lead to trans issues, cooling of trans and shifting.
