Gate Open Message constantly

My apologies if this has been asked before, but a quick search yielded no results.

Driving down the road with the tailgate secure, I'm getting dings every time I go over a small bump in the road and the the message center keeps saying "GATE." My assumption is that the tailgate sensor is wearing out or has some crud in it. Where is located? Is it part of the gate latching mechanism?

There is a tiny micro switch within the gate locker. I repaired mine adding a tiny rubber in the spot but it did not last what I wanted and ended buying an used one in the yunker. See image attached

Yeah it's built into the latch
Try spraying some contact cleaner and working the gate a few times
Might clear it up
