The past couple times filling my KJ, when I am finished and the nozzle clicks off it seems to be overfilled because gas pours down the side of my car. This has happened at different stations( multiple companies). Is this at all a common issue? What could it be?

All help is appreciated in advance!

The only thing I can think of is that you're not shoving the nozzle in deep enough. Municipalities which require that stupid rubber hose around the gas nozzle are probably notorious for this problem. Other than that, you shouldn't 'top off' your tank. It should naturally stop.

x2 on having the pump handle in all the way.

Yea, when the pump clicks off mine is real full. I tried to give it more once when it was new. I won't ever do that again.

Same here....well, I'll admit that it took me two tries to learn not to do that.

Ive had it happen three times now and Im sure I put the nozzle in all the way. :(

If it keeps happening, stand by the nozzle and listen for the gas tank start to fill up. You can usually hear it coming up the filler neck. Stop it and slowly fill it up till its full.

Mine hasn't done it in awhile so its not really a problem. It really PO's me when it does happen since it takes every bit of the wax off and turns my mud flap white..

I thought they were part of the vapor recovery system on the fuel pumps.

Some filling stations around here have them, some don't.
