Following on from my ABS diagnostic disaster (https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/abs-diagnostics-with-appcar-for-u0121.82353/) my KK diesel now won't run.

Long story short I managed to drop a live lead onto the ECM case and fry the unit. SO, £450 later the unit has been rebuilt and tested, I've put it back in connected everything back up and the Jeep started, ran for 5 seconds and dies. Attempted restarted, Jeep fired then dies straight away. Disconnecting the battery to reset the system and it will again start once and run for 5 seconds and then dies immediately after restarting. Fault codes reported are P0202, P0203 and P2149 (injector 2 & 3 open circuit).

I have tested all 4 injectors and they all test that same at 182kOhms and 2.4uF, I have also tested from the ECM connector and get the same 182kOhm reading from there so I'm sure the wiring is fine, besides I doubt it would start if it really was open circuit. The ECM has been back to the place that repaired it and they have run it through testing again, replaced the injector drivers (just in case) and it's now back in the Jeep and it's all back together and behaving exactly the same.

Before I start pulling injectors to get them tested (I do find it hard to believe it would start and idle fine for a few seconds if the injectors were actually toast), I wondered if the issue might be actually with something else. Does anyone know if what I'm seeing could be the result of the SKREEM immobilizer thingy cutting injectors to stall the engine, and if so how I test that and fix it? If not, any other ideas? It was my original ECM that was fixed so all the numbers still match on the car.

Alternatively, does anyone want to buy a low mileage non-running Jeep? It's got under 30k miles on it so mechanically excellent when it's actually working...

Thanks

After way too much time checking connectivity between PCM and injectors and for bad earths and you name it I bit the bullet and got a second PCM cloned off my old one. Plugged it in, and, of course the Jeep is now running perfectly, no fault codes.

So, in summary, my Jeep has been off the road for more than six months because two different electronic repair shops are incompetent and have told me they have fixed something when they hadn't. More than a bit cross to be honest.

Anyway I need to sell it now as we need to get a car for our daughter. Got to be the lowest mileage Cherokee out there: https://www.facebook.com/share/18NsaVx5fZ/
