I'm wondering if anyone has swapped lower gearing into their (second generation) Liberty KK. Mine is driven 75% on paved roads, so I'm not overly concerned about it's off road ability.
In drive mine will do almost 45 before shifting into second gear. That is way too high for a first gear.
My concern is partly the expense but also if you did it did it drastically change the fuel consumption?
There is the expense of buying the replacement and the work of swapping. There is a huge salvage year near me that just may have the used parts I need,
