bolt size interior windshield grab handles

I,m trying to remove my grab handles either side of windshield, I think my socket set is to wide to fit , do I need a screwdriver handle socket and what size is the bolt, thanks in advance. gary

It's a torx screw that attaches - so you'll need some kind of torx bit. I don't know the specific size. I have a screwdriver set with multiple flat head/philips/torx bits, and that works.

Mine requires a 7/32" deep socket.

Same here. Had to buy a craftsman 309pc set just for that socket. Well. I didnt HAVE to but... I did.

Resurrecting this dead thread. Couldn't get a 7/32 but a 5.5 mm works perfectly. And of course, you need a deep socket.

(stupid speak & spell on my phone... corrected.)

As Jeeps have been metric for about 30 years that's hardly surprising - but 5.5mm is almost as odd a size as 7/32.
